Because these community pools will be opening soon for spring and summer, we're giving Katy a sneak preview at some of the best neighborhood watering spots in the area. Maybe you're considering moving to a new neighborhood that offers more fun and recreation? Maybe you're just curious about what other neighborhoods have to offer? Here are some of Katy's top places for pool and water lovers!
NOTE: Most of these community pools are open only to residents. They will start opening in April or May for the weekends and then weekdays once school lets out
Dive into summer at Cane Island whether you are burning calories in the adult-only lap pool, staying cool in the family pool, or getting your giggles on at the interactive splash pad. Kids will never tire of water slides, water buckets, sprayers, and more in the family-friendly zone. Don’t forget to take a break from the sun and lounge in the VIP style cabanas. No food? No problem. Slip on your sandals and pop into the café for a cold drink or quick snack.
With 12 pools throughout the community, Cinco Ranch offers a wide variety of summertime water fun. Encompassing over 8,000 acres, Cinco Ranch is one of Katy’s largest communities with a diverse spectrum of housing types available. There are lap pools, a real beach complete with sand and multiple waterpark-style pools with large waterslide towers, splash parks, and resort-style pools. Residents have access to all of the pools, and each community within Cinco Ranch is close to at least one of the pools. Many of the pools feature diving boards, as well as kid-friendly play areas and splash pads. There are dive-in movies for residents throughout the summer and also summer camps that residents can register their children for.
Ranked one of the nation’s top 25 master-planned communities, Cross Creek Ranch houses three waterparks within their community.
Adventure Island
Adventure Island has a 140-ft water slide perched atop the community’s iconic Hill, which overlooks the main lake. There is a wading pool, lap lanes, and tanning shelves with water jets.
Flewellen Creek Pool
This area has a large infinity-edged pool with dedicated lap lanes, shaded areas with relaxing loungers and activities on the green.
Greenthread Park
New this summer, this resort-style pool includes water features and tanning shelves for those wanting to soak up the sun and get a little bronzer this summer while relaxing. There is also a pavilion, event lawn, and trails for family fun.
Open year-round Elyson’s large, resort-style pool hosts a residential pool event during the summer and other special events on the large lawn area throughout the year. A newer community, the area is still undergoing expansions and will include beach entry for family-friendly swim dates. The relaxing oasis is also adjacent to the Rorick House amenity center, which has an onsite café for when swimmers get the muchies, and serves as a large event yard for movie nights and concerts after swimming hours.
Very spacious with a rugged flair, Firethorne's pool has split levels, a cascading waterfall, designated areas for playing, sunbathing, and picnicking so families of each can enjoy their favorite aspects of same pool.
Connect with friends and family around the freeform pool or let your kiddos get expend some energy at the state-of-the art splash pad. If a cool drink and chill is more your style, grab a tube and take a ride around the lazy river. Breezy cabanas offer shade and relaxation while still offering a view of the pool and allowing you to keep an eye on young swimmers. Feed the clan at the nearby picnic area complete with barbecue grills and a playground.
