Katy High School FFA Poultry Team Wins State; 16 Katy ISD Teams Place in Top 10

The Katy High School FFA Poultry team won the state championship title for the 3rd time. 37 Katy ISD FFA teams competed at the state level and 16 teams earned Top 10 spots.

Third Time Champions

For the third time, the Katy FFA Poultry team are state champions. 16 Katy ISD teams earned Top 10 spots and 16 competed on the state level.



“For the past five years, Katy ISD FFA chapters have earned 11 Texas FFA State Championships and three FFA National Championships,” says David Laird, Katy ISD FFA Events Coordinator.


The Katy High School Poultry team will compete in the National FFA Convention and Expo scheduled for October 26-29, 2022.

“Whether it’s at local, state or national competition, students are challenged to develop critical thinking skills, practice teamwork and exercise communication amongst their chapters. We are very proud of all Katy ISD FFA students,” says Laird.


The Texas FFA is the nation’s largest state FFA association with a membership of more than 154,000 active FFA members. CDE competition is designed to help its members prepare for a career in agriculture by testing and challenging their technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as their knowledge of the subject matter.
