A Katy woman shot her husband overnight in their home in Cinco Ranch, according to the Fort Bend Sheriff's Office.
UPDATE: Brigette Turner, 46, has been charged with Aggravated Assault of a Family Member with serious bodily harm in the shooting of her husband.
The shooting happened around 11:30 pm near Sandersgate Lane and Ambrosia Springs. The home is behind Kilpatrick Elementary School at Gaston Rd. and Cinco Ranch Blvd.
The shooting allegedly took place after an argument. The wife then drove her husband to the Willowfork Fire Station where he was transported to the hospital where he was transported via Life Flight to the medical center. The victim underwent emergency surgery for a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is currently in ICU, but is in stable condition.
The wife was detained by the Fort Bend Sheriff's Office and will likely face aggravated assault charges. Police are waiting on a search warrant for the couple's home because the wife did not give consent for the home to be searched. The gun is reportedly still in the home.
The couple's teenage daughter was home at the time of the shooting but did not witness the altercation between her parents.
We will release more details as they become available.
