A 21-year-old man was shot while driving Wednesday evening on South Mason Road. The suspect is at large. The shooting happened just across from Creech Elementary.

Road Rage on Mason Road, Shooter At Large
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 6:20 pm Wednesday. The victim, a 21-year-old Asian man, reportedly called 911 after being shot in the shoulder by a driver he said he did not know. The shooting took place at 6:15 pm on South Mason Road and Douglass Park across from Creech Elementary where the victim had an interaction with the shooter. The shooter fled the scene.
Victim is Alive
"Victim is alive and talking to Investigators," states Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office official Facebook page. "He has stated this was a road rage incident."
Residents Heard Shots
Residents in the neighboring subdivision by Creech commented on the FBCSO Facebook page that they heard 3-5 shots fired.
Sheriff Troy Nehls says his deputies found two bullet holes in the victim's blue Subaru.
Beck JH Secured
"The victim initially said that the event occurred at Beck Junior High," says Major Chad Norvell with FBCSO. "He meant near it. BJH was hosting a volleyball game so the school was secured by KISD PD until we determined accurate info."
No Details on Shooter
Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office confirmed that there was only one victim and that he was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. Information and a description of the shooter has not yet been released.
