The Festival of Trees returns to Katy's Cane Island November 29-30. Every cent raised from the event goes to support the Ballard House, a Katy nonprofit organization. The two-day festival needs volunteers and members of the Katy community are urged to help behind the scenes.
Festival Proceeds Benefit the Ballard House
The Festival of Trees is a large-scale holiday festival that raised over $80,000 from tree and wreath sales during its inaugural year, last November. All proceeds went to The Ballard House in Katy to support families and patients undergoing treatment for life threatening illnesses.
Volunteers Needed
"This kind of endeavor does not happen without a ton of volunteers and we appreciate everyone pitching in to help us make this the best Christmas event ever," says Kelly Goerig, Festival of Trees Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers are needed for the days of the event, November 29 - 30 as well as clean up on December 1.
Volunteering at Festival of Trees provides a great opportunity to give back to the community the weekend after Thanksgiving. Volunteers are still needed in the Kids Zone, Santa area, tree area, and the parking lot.
Families can sign up as long as their young children can be supervised. Any volunteer station that handles money requires volunteers to be at least 15 years old.

About the Festival
Avenue Property Group and Christy Bohlen Sells Homes Team promise an event even bigger than last year. The Festival of Trees takes place November 29 and 30 at the Cane Island Amenity Village. Guests are invited to walk among hundreds of decorated trees and wreaths in various themes to get creative ideas for their holiday decor or purchase their favorite design.
The event's holiday market will offer a wide range of holiday gifts to purchase. Live entertainment will include local school choirs, fine arts programs, as well as local artists. The Kids Zone will feature inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painters, balloon artists, and more.
Of course, it wouldn't be a holiday event without Santa. Santa will visit the festival for pictures, plus kids can send their Santa letters at Santa's Workshop.
Food trucks will also be on sight.
