Praise for the Center

"I'm extremely pleased that the STEAM center offers an opportunity for my kids to explore so many areas," says Sarah Hadden who has children in junior high and elementary school. She praises experiences with coding, robotics, maker projects, messy science labs, astronomy, rockets, etc. "It would be a challenge for a family to find this same opportunity on our own," adds Hadden.

The Importance of STEAM

The U.S. Department of Education values the STEAM program and its impact on future generations.

"If we want a nation where our future leaders, neighbors, and workers have the ability to understand and solve some of the complex challenges of today and tomorrow, and to meet the demands of the dynamic and evolving workforce, building students' skills, content knowledge, and fluency in STEM fields is essential," states the U.S. Department of Education.

Fine Arts Vital to Learning

Katy ISD recognizes the importance of fine arts in education: "Sufficient data exists to overwhelmingly support the belief that study and participation in the fine arts is a key component in improving learning throughout all academic areas."
