Too Close to Home
Kelly Litvak's daughter became a target for sex trafficking here in Katy. As a result of this experience, Litvak created ChildProof America. The organization is dedicated to empowering families in the battle against sex trafficking. Their mission is to educate, equip and support America’s parents in the protection and defense of their children.
“Our family was thrown into an intense crisis,” says Litvak. ”We were overwhelmed by service organizations trying to help us as we grasped at anything that appeared to be a good option for our daughter.”
Like most Katy residents, Litvak assumed that sex trafficking was an inner-city issue and did not believe this horrendous crime could exist in her community. When her own family was affected, they had to act fast and navigate through the intense situation.
“We needed one trained, trusted person who knew exactly how to move us effectively through the process,” says Litvak.

Informing and Educating Parents
Litvak believes it is important for parents to understand how even a well-adjusted child can fall prey to a total stranger online.
“As a parent, we can barely process this crime and any possible connection to our child,” says Litvak. “However, parents must become informed, therefore becoming empowered to protect their children.”
The social media seminar is recommended for audience members over 13 years old, and will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Children’s Assessment Center located at 2500 Bolsover St. Houston, TX 77005. Doors open at 12:45 pm.
Tickets are free, but seating is limited. Register for the event here.
