Serial thieves broke into the same Life Storage unit earlier this month and authorities seek the public's help in finding them before they continue to steal from Katy resident's storage. A $5,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.

Stole Weapons, TV's, and More

On the evenings of June 7 and June 15 a group of thieves broke into the same Life Storage at the 1400 block of Silverado Drive. They pried open several storage units and stole a lot of property, including weapons, TVs, Jordan Tennis Shoe collection, craft items and more. The crimes at this particular unit were caught on security cameras.

Suspects Caught on Camera

There appears to be three or four criminals in this group, including one girl. Also, on the video you can see that they covered their license plates, and for the most part covered their faces and avoided looking at cameras.

Professional Thieves

The suspects apparently knew how to break into the units without damaging the locks. From the outside, the units don't look like they've been compromised.

Messy Suspects

"The suspects were pretty messy because they left cigarette buds, a crowbar and a bottled water behind in units, which were tagged for DNA," says investigators with Constable Ted Heap's office. They also took their time in the crime. From the time on the videos the suspects were there a couple of hours loading up.

Wanted in More Cases

This group of thieves are suspected in at least 12 similar crimes. Constable Ted Heap and Precinct 5 are investigating seven cases while investigators at Houston Police Department are investigating another five.

$5,000 Reward Offered

Crime Stoppers is offering $5000 for tips that help identify the suspects. As always, all tips are anonymous. If you have any information on these crimes, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or to speak to an investigator directly at Precinct 5 call 832-927-6700.
