Grab your inner tube and sunscreen, and take part in a tradition that's as "Texas" as bluebonnets and BBQ. Here's our Top 5 favorite "toobing" locales that Katyites love!

1. Andy's on River Road (Frio )

Highway 127 & CR 348, Concan

The idiom, "floatin' the Frio" is synonymous with Texas travel culture - you just can't live here and never dip your toes in the chilly, spring-fed water that runs right through Central Texas. Andy's has cabins, RV and tent sites, a convenience store, and tube rentals for their guests.

2. Landa RV Park (Comal )

565 N. Market Ave., New Braunfels

Kid- and pet-friendly, Landa RV park rents out sites on a daily, weekly, and even monthly basis. Accessible to motor homes, campers and tents, and it gives direct access to the Comal River aka, "the shortest river in the world." The campground is also just down the street from Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Comal Springs, golf courses, and more.

3. Garner State Park (Frio)

The crown jewel of Texas camping and outdoor fun. Garner State Park has campsites, cabins, and RV hookups set in breathtaking natural scenery - camping here is a beloved tradition for countless families. The best part, is that the Frio runs through it, so you can float, relax, eat, repeat!

4. Gypsy River Resort (Guadalupe)

8690 River Rd., New Braunfels

A hidden paradise for the wild-at-heart. Kid and pet-friendly, the resort is situated right on the banks of the Guadalupe river. You can pitch a tent, or rent out a custom bungalow. Food trucks, tube rentals, and live music are always on the itinerary.

5. Don's Fish Camp (San Marcos River)

Perfect for anyone who wants to float the river without spending hours and hours in the sun! Take a day trip and relax on the spring-fed waters in the heart of San Marcos. Fewer crowds and the water is a constant 72 degrees.

Be Cautious of Wildlife

When playing around riverbeds and floating in a tube, people are likely to encounter local wildlife from snakes to even gators. Keep in mind that this is their home and we should leave them alone. Always tell children to not touch local wildlife and to alert an adult when they see something.

Stay Water Safe

Soak up the sun but stay alert especially when tubing with children. Always follow river and park rules. Have children wear life jackets and stay connected to their parents at all times.
