9 Holiday Events in Katy for the Whole Family to Enjoy

Exciting holiday programs and activities are happening in Katy all month! Grab the kiddos and meet Santa Claus, see a holiday show, or shop for everyone on your list.

1. Kids Crazy Christmas Show

Second Baptist Church

1463 Campus Worship Center

Thursday – Saturday, December 10 -12, 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Saturday, December 12, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.


The community is invited to experience the magic of Christmas at the Kid’s Crazy Christmas Show! BIRTHDAY LAND is for people of all ages.


Walk-ups are welcome, but registering is encouraged because seating is limited.

2. City of Katy 2020 Santa Tour

Touring Katy

December 10 - December 16

The Katy Fire Department recently got Santa’s sleigh restored ahead of his annual visit. Follow the Katy Fire Department’s Facebook page for maps and updates for the remaining neighborhoods:


December 10 - 11: Cane Island

December 14: Willow Creek Farms North, South and West, and Young Ranch

December 15 – 16: Firethorne


Santa's sleigh will be followed by helper Elves in a marked Katy Fire Department truck stopping to collect donations of non-perishable canned goods to deliver to the local Katy Food Pantry and unwrapped toys for the Lions Club and Toys-for-Tots Programs.


Due to COVID-19, the Katy Fire Department asks that you place your donations on the back of the truck yourself and practice social distancing when waiting to see Santa on your street.


Each night of the tour, Santa will leave the “North Pole” at 6:30 p.m. Families can listen for his “sleigh bells” as he enters the street.

 

3. Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops

Advance Reservation Required

Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops (including the Katy Mills Mall location) is already welcoming visitors this holiday season. However, some changes have been implemented for guests to safely enjoy this favorite Katy tradition.


Families must make a free reservation in advance of visiting with Santa in this “Contactless Claus” experience.


As this is always a popular Katy holiday experience, reservations are expected to go fast. Make a reservation here.

 

4. Treasures in the Attic

St. Peter’s United Methodist Church

Wesley Student Center

20775 Kingsland Blvd.

Saturday, December 12, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.


Children are invited to shop for gifts for their families at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church’s annual Treasures in the Attic event. Parents will wait in the lobby while children, accompanied by their own personal shopper, select gifts, and have them wrapped.

5. "The Christmas Truce"

Katy Theatre

Katy High School Black Box Theatre

Thursday - Saturday, December 10-12 at 7 p.m.

Saturday, December 12 at 2 p.m.

Tickets available for in-person and virtual screenings


The Katy High School Theatre Company presents The Christmas Truce, the true story of the cease-fire between German and British soldiers during World War I. The soldiers swapped Christmas gifts and engaged in a game of soccer. This play urges audience members to remember what is most important in this holiday season - to celebrate the human experience with our fellow man.

6. Dulaney Drive-in Movie: “Home Alone”

Mayde Creek High School Fine Arts Parking Lot

Saturday, December 12 at 6 p.m.


The Mayde Creek High School Choir and Theatre present a drive-in movie experience for families to watch the holiday classic “Home Alone.”


Concessions will be sold and distributed in compliance with Katy ISD COVID Safety Regulations.

7. Polar Express Parade and Storytime

Katy Budget Books welcomes families to decorate their cars and dress up for their Polar Express Parade. The store will be closed, but staff members will be handing out activity bags (while supplies last) to cars as they pass through.

8. Brazilian Christmas Market

Wildcatter Saloon

Sunday, December 13, Noon - 5 p.m.


The Brazilian Christmas Market hosts vendors showcasing culinary, arts, and works of music. They will also be accepting new toy donations in honor of the 5th Toy Drive Campaign, in which children’s hospitals receive the donations.


The Brazilian Women Foundation (BWF), a non-profit organization, serves communities throughout Texas.

9. Storytime with Santa

LaCenterra Heritage Square

23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.

Tuesdays and Saturdays through December 19


Mark your calendars for Storytime with Santa presented by Texas Children’s Hospital, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, now until December 19. Santa will welcome guests at Heritage Square, the green area by Dish Society.


All guests are required to wear a face mask or covering during the event and must practice social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” which means keeping six-feet (about two arm lengths) distance between yourself and other people who are not from your household.


Tickets are $25 for up to four people and include one LaCenterra blanket and a Nestle Toll House cookie pack.


All ticket proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization Children's Miracle Network.
