Last July, Build-A-Bear Workshop held a "Pay Your Age" event that attracted large crowds hoping to build inexpensive stuffed toys. Families inundated malls across the United States and Canada, including Katy Mills Mall, causing authorities to cap the lines. Now the event is back, but the company has set limitations, including a registration that closes this Sunday.
Limited Tickets Available
Registering for Build-A-Bear's "Pay Your Age" event is easy and requires no purchase. Sign in or create a Build-A-Bear Bonus Club account and complete the new birthday profile.
Completing the registration doesn't guarantee you a ticket, but a chance at one of 200,000 tickets for the event on the select dates of June 24 - 28. One ticket will be valid for two stuffed toys to be built by children present at the time of the purchase.
Long lines vs. Low-priced stuffed animals
Katy Mills Mall is home to one of the Build-A-Bear Workshops that experienced huge crowds at last year's sale event. Some parents waited in the long line, while others didn't want to deal with the crowds to get a stuffed animal at a reduced price.
"I pulled into the Katy Mills parking lot thirty minutes before the store opened last year, and a friend already inside told me the line was a mile long," says Katy mom, Meredith Sealy. "We never even got out of the car!"
Hopefully this year's new ticket process will result in a more enjoyable experience for many families.
Registration Deadline Approaches
The deadline to register for this year's "Pay Your Age" event is Sunday, June 16 at midnight. Visit Build-A-Bear's website for more information and to enter. All ticket recipients will be notified by June 21.
