Copper Wire Thieves Caught Near Katy

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office report arrests on individuals associated with the $70,000 loss in copper theft at the Katy area Gallery Furniture.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the copper theft that has caused approximately $70,000 in reported losses from the Gallery Furniture near Katy.
“Tips from the public can play an important role in helping our investigators identify suspects and move cases forward,” says Sheriff Eric Fagan. “We appreciate the members of our community who came forward with information, as well as our partners at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in bringing these suspects into custody.”
On September 22, 2026, FBCSO deputies responded to Gallery Furniture, located in the 7200 block of W. Grand Parkway, regarding the theft of copper power cables from air-conditioning equipment. The incident marked the fourth similar theft reported at the location since August 5, 2026.
During the investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance video that captured two suspects during the theft. Information shared on social media, along with tips received from the public, assisted investigators in identifying the suspects as Abraham Santiago, 38, and Magnum Schexneider, 31.
Following further investigation, FBCSO detectives obtained arrest warrants for Santiago and Schexneider on charges of Felony Theft.
On September 24, 2026, FBCSO detectives, with assistance from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit, located and arrested both suspects in Houston.
Santiago and Schexneider were booked into the Fort Bend County Jail, where each remains on a $100,000 bond.
