Last Saturday, May 29 there was a shooting Katy Nails (21945 Katy Freeway) off of Mason Road in Katy in the same shopping center as the 99 Cent Store. The shooting took place after a dispute over a price of service. The women got a manicure and pedicure.

UPDATE: The suspect has been caught. See details below.

Manager Shot in the Chest

The store manager, 42-years-old, was shot in the chest. He has been reported to be in stable condition.

When Katy Magazine put out the call to action from Harris County Sheriff’s Office along with the $5,000 reward from Crime Stoppers of Houston, Katy responded in growing comments from residents and a local business owner that the incident was very close to.

“Rather than just not getting her nails done because she didn't want to pay, she shoots the owner,” says Sandie Cobb, owner/broker of Liz Carter and Team Realty.

Cobb’s real estate business is next door to the salon and she’s known the owner for over 20 years.

“This is a family owned and ran salon,” says Cobb. “They are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The owner who was shot would always run outside to help me carry stuff anytime he saw me trying load or unload anything heavy from my car.”

Authorities seek the public’s help in identifying this person suspected in Saturday's shooting at a nail salon in Katy. She's one of two females involved in the incident that left the salon manger shot over a price dispute. The female fled in a burnt orange colored Ford Fusion.

“I hope Katy can ban together to find these criminals, bring them to justice and let's remember Katy Nails the next time we need our mani and pedi's,” says Cobb. “I'm sure they will need our support.”

UPDATE: The suspect was caught.

Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 for any information leading up to the arrest of the suspect. Call 713-222-TIPS (8477.)

“This is such a sad story and senseless crime,” says Cobb.
