Katy ISD Builds Schools to Meet Area Growth

The Katy area continues to grow a record pace, especially in the Northwest quadrant of the area. To meet growth and the District standards of education, they are currently building 4 new schools.

"Families are moving to the District in droves, leading to a projected enrollment of more than 100,000 students by 2028,” says Maria DiPetta, Katy ISD Manager of Media Relations & Multimedia/Spokesperson. “Despite this growth, Katy ISD remains a leader in educational excellence.”

Fall 2023 will mark the opening two new elementary schools in the District. Elementary 45 will be located at 25600 Longenbaugh Road while Elementary 46 will be located at 25615 Clay Road, both in the northwest quadrant of Katy ISD.

Katy schools are named after namesakes who have made an impact within Katy ISD as educators and leaders. At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting the namesakes for elementary schools 45 and 46.

David and Terri Youngblood were recommended as the namesakes for Elementary 45 and Russell and Cindie Faldyn for Elementary 46.

The Youngblood’s have been dedicated to the field of education for decades and have demonstrated a passion for students, staff and the community of Katy ISD through a collective 77 years of service.
