Katy ISD High Schools Entertain the Community with Musical Productions that Rival Broadway

Katy, Texas is full of talent and residents don’t have to go far to find musical performances worthy of the Hobby Center. Katy ISD high schools have rehearsed Broadway-style theatre productions sure to please the Katy community this season. Tickets are available online.

All Katy ISD High School Perform Musicals This Year

Students and staff devote countless hours to preparing these large-scale productions. This year most Katy ISD high schools have worked on a musical theatre production.



Katy residents can purchase tickets at the Katy ISD website or through the link listed below. ticket prices range based on the school, bust students and seniors typically get discounts.


"Our Katy ISD fine arts students are so talented. The musical productions are very professional," says Katy ISD School Board Member Dawn Champagne. "Often times, as I sit in either a Black Box or a PAC, I forget that I am watching High Schoolers."


Popular characters from many musical will come to life this season such as shows from "Beauty and the Beast," "Mamma Mia," "The SpongeBob Musical," and many more.


Most of the show start later this month with some happening the first of February.


"Katy ISD high school musical productions rival those seen on Broadway," says Katy ISD School Board Member Rebecca Fox. "These fine arts student and their educators are deeply talented and it shows up big in stage performances with names of plays that might sound familiar."



"Many of these performances will get nominated for the Houston area Tommy Tunes Awards, which is the high school equivalent of the Tony Awards," explains Fox.

"I feel very fortunate to live in Katy where we have so much entertainment," says Champagne.


"An inexpensive ticket, a comfortable theater, big lights and a huge show with dozens of actors, musicians, and dancers. There is a show playing near your neighborhood," says Fox. "Go to one, or multiple. You'll be astounded at the level of talent."
