Katy ISD will hold a job fair next week and is actively hiring over 100 teaching positions across the District. The nation continues to experience a teacher shortage, but Katy ISD is dedicated to retaining and attracting educators.

Katy ISD Striving to Fill over 100 Teaching Positions
Katy ISD will host a Teacher Job Fair on November 16, 2023 at Tompkins High School (4400 Falcon Landing Blvd.) from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. This fair is focusing on filling over 100 positions vacant for this current school year.
“Attracting and retaining world-class educators is high priority for the Board and administration,” says Nick Petito, General Manager of Media Relations. “Katy ISD is set to launch the Alternative Certification Program, or ACP, designed to ‘grow-our-own’ certified teachers.”
The program is expected to be approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) this school year and will provide a nontraditional pathway for degreed professionals to transition into Katy ISD teaching positions.
At the job fair, applicants will have the opportunity to apply and interview on-site with Katy ISD campus principals. Both elementary and secondary positions are available and will have booths at the event.
Applicants are instructed to bring their resumes and Texas teaching certification or SOE from ACP. Anyone with questions can call Human Resources at 281-396-2392.
Over 14,000 Employees
Katy ISD has over 14,000 employees (full-time and part-time) that serve nearly 95,000 students.
In the spring, Katy ISD will hold another Teacher Job Fair as they look to fill positions for the 2024-2025 school year.
“We encourage all passionate and qualified educators who are interested in joining the Katy ISD family to attend the fall Teacher Job Fair on Thursday, November 16,” says Petito.
