Katy families and residence have opportunities to celebrate and honor those who gave their lives. Whether it's a service or a meal and live entertainment, there's always plenty to do in Katy!



Katy VFW Post # 9182 Memorial Day Program

Magnolia Cemetery

May 31, 2021

10 a.m.


Honors those who gave their lives in a ceremony at Katy’s Magnolia Cemetery.

  • Posting of the Colors by Katy VFW Post 918 Honor Guard

  • Pledge of Allegiance

  • Invocation by Post chaplain Jeb Strickland

  • Guest speaker WWII Navy Veteran and Post 9182 member Wilbur Duval

  • Original poem by Poet Laureate Hubert E. (Ernie) Cormier II. Post Commander American Legion Post 164.

  • Memorial Service

  • Tolling of Bell for deceased VFW Post 9182 & American Legion Post 164 comrades and first responders.

  • “21” Gun Salute & Taps- VFW Post 9182 Honor Guard

  • Closing prayer by Post Chaplain Jeb Strickland

Following the Memorial Day Service, guests are invited to follow to the Armed Forces Memorial at Freedom Park at 18050 Westheimer Parkway for a short ceremony.

 

“The Calling,” A Musical Based on the Sermon on the Mount
