Authorities have arrested two suspects charged with the murder of the man found dead in a Katy residential garage Tuesday night.

23-year-olds Matthew Farfan and Luis Enrique Robledo have been charged with the murder of Dirk Brian Fortune. The suspects both face felony murder charges.
Court documents reveal an investigation that found shell casing found at a separate location that matched casing found in Robledo’s Impala. These casing also matched Farfan’s rifle though the rifle is still at-large.
According to records, Farfan’s mother and other witnesses described seeing both men with blood on their shirts after the alleged murder. Witnesses also reported seeing a rifle and handgun brought into the home at the 500 block of Everington Drive in Katy, where deputies later responded to a 911 call and then found Fortune dead in the vehicle.
Another report in court documents allege that Farfan sent a picture of the victim to his father, who then shared it with his mother.
After inconsistencies in interviews of individuals at the home when deputies arrived, led to a search warrant. That warrant found incriminating evidence at the residence that led to the arrests.
Both Farfan and Robledo are due in court today, Friday May 15, 2026.
Authorities believe that this was an isolated incident and that there was never a threat to the community.
