Katy Road Rage Shooting Victim Life Flighted to Hospital; Shooter At Large

A road rage incident ended in a shooting last night near Cinemark in Katy. The victim was Life Flighted to a nearby hospital. The shooter is at large, and authorities seek the public’s help.



Precinct 5 deputies responded to a road rage shooting last night at the 23200 block of Grand Circle Boulevard. The victim was Life Flighted to a nearby hospital.


Offender Discharged Weapon into Victim's Vehicle

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported the crime on Twitter at 8:39 p.m. He later updated stating that the offender had discharged his weapon into the victim’s vehicle, striking the driver.



Victim in Fair Condition; Shooter At Large

Sheriff Gonzalez reports that the victim is in fair condition, but the shooter is still at large.


“The offender has not yet been identified and no arrest has been made,” says Sheriff Gonzalez. “We’re seeking the public’s assistance if they witnessed the incident.”



Road rage incidents continue to be a problem in the Greater Houston area including Katy. It is important to know what to do if you find yourself involved.




Harris County Constable Ted Heap offers these tips if you are involved in a road rage incident:


• If you encounter an aggressive driver, don’t respond.

• Avoid eye contact.

• Don’t respond to aggression with aggression.

• Avoid offensive hand gestures.

• Don’t honk your horn.

• If you’re being followed or if an enraged driver points a gun at you, call 911 and provide a detailed description of the vehicle and the driver.
