Summer Fun is Easy in Katy

Katy kids have it made when seeking summer fun in Katy. The possibilities of fun are endless! Stay local and make summer plans. This guide is broken into categories to help families plan with "Katy Littles," "Katy School-Age Kids," and "Katy Teens." Please note that activities will be repeated in each category that they fit.


Some Katy Moms look to combine activities for a summer day. "We go to Altitude Trampoline Park and then CiCi’s. We’ve been doing it for years with our kids ages 1-7. It’s a great combo for energy release and food refuel," says K.E.


This list will continue to be updated throughout the summer to give you the greatest fun options to enjoy with your children in all stages.

Events at Central Green Park FREE

Gather the family for live music at Central Green Park at LaCenterra of Cinco Ranch on select Saturdays. Katy Littles can enjoy dancing on the lawn! Follow them on Facebook for information on all their events such as yoga, story time, live performances and more!

Visit the most iconic landmark in Katy! The MKT railroad museum is an historic landmark with life-sized exhibits. Make sure to take your photo with the famous red caboose car.


Retreat to Mary Jo Peckham Park to connect with nature. The property surrounds a beautiful, stocked fishing pond with walking trails. Plus kids love the expansive playground with free putt putt golf. They also have various fitness classes with first priority given to City of Katy and Harris County residents.


Take a photo in front of the "You'll Love Katy" mural! While your there, explore the history of Katy's heritage at the Wright House, Stockdick House, and visit the Tradition Bank Bandstand.


Great indoor fun to beat The Katy heat!


Escape the Texas heat inside the recently-refurbished Katy Mills Mall. The 165+ stores feature many high-fashion outlets like Saks Fifth Avenue, Kate Spade, Nike and more. The mall welcomes families to enjoy the contemporary dining pavilion, Disney Jr. Play Zone and AMC Movie Theatres.


Enjoy a large indoor playground complete with arcade games. Perfect for entertaining Katy Littles.


Yes, it's a gas station, but a quick trip to the Buc-ee's in Katy proves that everything IS bigger in Texas. Even the car wash is BIG and the Guinness Book of World Records declared it to be the longest in the world! Grab some signature Buc-ee's gear, Beaver Nuggets, and an extra-large drink. It's tradition.

The 32-acre park is located at the northwest corner of SH 99/Grand Parkway and Cinco Ranch Blvd., north of Cinco Ranch High School. Take a leisurely walk through Willow Fork Park to watch for butterflies visiting their special garden. The park is also equipped with boardwalks, a pedestrian bridge, playground, disc golf, bio swales, a pavilion facility with restrooms, picnic tables and grills.


Explore the upscale shops and restaurants spread across 34 acres of LaCenterra in Cinco Ranch. Families can gather in the common areas, find the perfect gift or choose from many of the indoor and outdoor dining locations.

Explore a sensory garden rooted in children's play and dedicated to environmental education with a musical bridge, fun swing varieties, large play area, picnic tables, and a water cycle wall.

Alternate Reality Escape Room Can you and your friends escape a Nuclear Fall-Out or Zombie Apocalypse in less than 60 minutes? Test your survival skills in one of the themed escape rooms at Alternate Reality. Not recommended for young children.
