Katy’s Central Green Park at LaCenterra will host their annual Veteran’s Day Celebration Friday, November 11, 2022 with a Historic War Bird Flyover and big performances including county music legends, Diamond Rio.

Veteran's Day Celebration an Annual Event in Katy
Katy’s Central Green Park has held a Veteran’s Day Celebration since they opened in June 2013, except during the pandemic.
This years event has sadly been canceled due to weather. Any veteran that had already been scheduled to speak can take the stage on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.
Central Green Park, developed by Willow Fork Drainage District (WFDD,) is located at the south end of LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. It is a true entertainment destination close to shopping dining, theaters, and libraries. The park provides a multi-purpose venue for many standing weekly events, monthly events, special events, and more.
Important to Honor Veteran's
“It is always important to honor or Veteran's. It would be impossible to repay what they have done for each and everyone of us to protect and make possible our freedom,” says Yvonne Arceneaux, Willow Fork Drainage District’s (WFDD) Park Director. “They are comprised of a group of people with unsurpassed character, ethics and morals.”
Event Details
The event will begin this Friday, November 11, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. with a historic war bird flyover and National Anthem performed by Katy’s own Hayden Baker.
There will be speeches from local Veteran’s, face painting, crafts, and musical performances by Hayden Baker and country music legends, Diamond Rio.
“Country is one of the favorite genre's of Central Green guest and I was searching for just the right band,” explains Arceneaux. “In a conversation with Hayden's manager, he mentioned that Hayden had a relationship with Diamond Rio's lead guitar player, Jimmy Olander, who actually helped Hayden pick out one of his guitars.”
A phone call to the booking agent sealed the deal.

5:00 p.m.- National Anthem by Hayden Baker and War Bird Interview from Commemorative Air Force and Houston Wing War Bird fly over
5:15 p.m.-5:30 p.m.- Speeches from Veteran's
5:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.- Hayden Baker
6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.- Diamond Rio

“What many don't realize is that thousands of men and women are currently serving and protecting us each day,” says Arceneaux. “They are our future Veteran's and need to know that they are supported and appreciated.”
