The Precinct 5 Constable's Office is offering the nationally-recognized RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) self-defense program for Katy Area women of all ages. Classes are four nights and are scheduled once a month.

THE RAD PROGRAM

RAD is the only self-defense program of its kind endorsed by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), National Academy of Defense Education, the National Self-Defense Institute (NSDI) and Redman Training Gear.

The program begins with awareness and avoidance, then advances to teaching hands-on defense techniques, including learning how to escape and defend yourself against an attacker.

CLASSES FILLING QUICKLY

RAD class registrations are on a first come first served basis and are filling quickly. All of the instructors and aggressors are certified by RAD and are deputies with our department.

FOUR CLASS SESSIONS

Classes are broken into four sessions, held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., over two consecutive weeks. Registration is free, however, class space is limited and demand is high, so please plan on attending all four sessions. To receive a certificate of completion you must attend all sessions.

CLASS LOCATIONS

The first night of class will be held at the Precinct 5 Command Station located at:

The second, third, and forth night of class will be held at Second Baptist Church, West Campus, in the Williams House, (located directly west of the main church building.)
