Hundreds of students need a mentor this school year. Can you spend time with a Katy ISD student once a week, during the school day?

Join Katy ISD for the KEYS Kickoff on Friday, September 21 at The Merrell Center located at 6301 S. Stadium Lane Katy, TX 77494 from 8 - 9:30 am. This is an informational meeting about mentoring in Katy ISD.

In Katy ISD, the mentoring program is called KEYS Mentor Program (Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success).

The KEYS Mentor Program matches a caring adult with a student on the brink of success each week on campus during the school year. The primary focus is on relationship building rather than tutoring, although increased student academic success often occurs.

In Katy ISD, KEYS offers two opportunities for those who wish to join the KEYS mentor family:

  • Traditional Mentoring ~ Pairs one mentor with one child once a week.

  • KSR (Katy Students Run) ~ Matches running coaches with high school students as they prepare for the Houston Half Marathon.

KEYS is offered at every Katy ISD campus, each of which has a staff liaison who oversees the school's program. All mentors must make a one school year commitment to a student and complete an application and background check.

Breakfast will be served before the informational session. Click here to RSVP by September 18.
