Suspects Arrested for Abduction, Sexual Assault of Katy Woman

A Katy woman accepted a ride share from a pair, also Katy residents, now arrested and charged with her abduction and sexual assault.
Two Katy residents were arrested in Seguin, TX after being identified by a Katy victim. Brian Smith (26) and Hayan Lee (25) have been charged with aggravated sexual assault and trafficking of a person.
According to the 26-year-old victim, she accepted a ride by them with the agreement to be taken to a short destination in Katy. She didn’t know them but needed the ride.
The suspects passed the agreed upon Katy destination and continued west on I-10 to Seguin. Along the trip she was sexually assaulted
Near Seguin, the vehicle ran out of gas allowing an opportunity for the victim to escape and get help. She was able to run to a nearby residence where authorities around 12:45 a.m.
Local officials urge the public to use caution when accepting rides from people they do not know and encouraged residents to remain alert for signs that someone may be being trafficked or held against their will.
They were transported to the Guadalupe County Jail and are being held on a $1 million bond for each charge.
