The Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show and Katy Rodeo has kicked off their 83rd season of providing student opportunities while entertaining the Katy community. From entertainment to food, this week your family is set!

The 83rd Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show and Katy Rodeo kicks off this week (Feb. 9–14, 2026) bringing six days of competition, community pride and Texas tradition to the Katy ISD L.D. Robinson Pavilion and the Billy Morgan Rodeo Arena.
“The Katy Livestock Show and Rodeo is one of my favorite events of the year,” says Katy ISD Board of Trustee James Cross. “It is such a visible way our students get to connect with our community. The community gets to see first-hand the work that goes into an event like this.
Hosted by the Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show and the Katy Rodeo Association, the event officially began Feb. 9, with its opening ceremony, the Best Buddies Grand Drive and the Special Rodeo. These events celebrate and support students with special needs.
Now in its 83rd year, the Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show continues to celebrate agricultural education, and the vital role agriculture plays locally and across the state, supporting Katy ISD FFA programs through the generosity of the Katy community. The Katy Rodeo complements the livestock show with classic rodeo events and family-friendly entertainment.
The FFA students showcase their animals. Students gain valuable experience and preparation for showcasing their work on a larger stage or at the next Katy ISD Livestock Show.
“Last year’s Katy ISD Livestock Show was made record setting, bringing in over $1 million in scholarships for some of the most hardworking students in our district. This year, we would love to see these same numbers,” says Katy ISD Board of Trustee Dawn Champagne. “The show not only includes the raising and showing of animals, but also includes a Best Buddies Special Rodeo, a floral show, a horticulture show, an art show, and an agriculture Mechanics Show.”
The Livestock Show includes a full slate of activities highlighting student achievement and inclusivity. Students participate in the broiler, rabbit, lamb, goat, swine, steer, horticulture, floral and ag mechanics shows.
Rodeo events begin nightly starting Feb. 12, featuring fan-favorite competitions such as mutton bustin’, calf scramble and more.
“Our FFA programs are second to none. Students and teachers pour their time and energy into not only raising and showing animals, but creating and displaying award winning art,” says Cross. “Katy ISD gets to show our community the investment we pour into our students and in turn those students show our community their talents and hard work. It’s a win for all of Katy!”
Gates open each evening at 6:00 p.m. and performances start at 7:00 p.m. starting this Thursday, February 12-14, 2026. Tickets can be bought online. Adults are $15 and children are $7 (3 and under are free.)
On Thursday all children are free and so are military and first responders (with valid I.D.)
A complete schedule of events is available on the Katy ISD Livestock Show webpage, and livestock show competitions will be livestreamed on the event’s YouTube channel.
“These incredibly hardworking students learn leadership skills, confidence, good sportsmanship, and work ethics,” says Champagne.
