Three Katy ISD High School Bands Go to State This Week; More Placed Among Top 10

Six of the ten Katy ISD High School bands finished in the top 10 with three Katy schools going to State Competition this week. The Katy community has and continues to shower these talented students with praise and good wishes.

Seven Lakes High School, Cinco Ranch High School, Jordan High School, Tompkins High School, Taylor High School, Katy High School and Freeman High School bands have all shown great success this season with three of these schools going to State this week.
Today Cinco Ranch and Seven Lakes High Schools compete for the 6A State Title at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.
“We have such an amazing fine arts program,” says Katy ISD Board of Trustee Member James Cross. “I’m so proud of all our schools. The commitment level of our kids and directors is second to none.”
Today Cinco Ranch High School under the direction of Ray Jones and Seven Lakes High School under the direction of John Mays will perform for their title.
“Congratulations to Seven Lakes and Cinco Ranch High Schools for placing in the top 5 and advancing to the State level,” says Dawn Champagne, Katy ISD Board of Trustee. “Actually, 7 of our high schools placed in the top 10: CRHS, SLHS, JHS, THS, KHS, ODTHS, and FHS topped in top 5 in the 4A divison.”
Freeman High School will compete I San Antonio this Wednesday and the newest Katy ISD High School is in their second year so to make the State championship is a huge deal.
While Cinco and Seven Lakes High Schools have already experienced great community send offs, Freeman High School will get theirs this week.
Monday, November 3, 2025, the Freeman Golden Eagle Band will perform their State qualifying performance at Legacy Stadium at 8:15 p.m.
Over the weekend, Cinco Ranch High School experienced a great send off for their first State Championship in 20 years. Freeman High School, the newest Katy ISD school hopes to experience the same send off.
Cheer on the Freeman Golde Eagle Band this Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. outside the school PAC.
“Fine arts in Katy is always a top-rated program due to talent and hard work,” says Champagne. “The students, teachers, and parents should be commended for their dedication. Congratulations!”
