Katy Organizations Gathers Politicians, Community Leaders, and Sex-Trafficking Experts for a One Day Symposium on Nov. 14
Modern day slavery, in the form of human trafficking, affects nearly 79,000 children and teenagers in Texas alone.
Katyite Kelly Litvak, Executive Director of Childproof America, is gathering interested parties and politicians for an Anti-Sex Trafficking Symposium.
According to the organization, no community is immune from sex trafficking. "Traffickers often look just like you and me and can blend in to upscale communities where families and children are off-guard, feeling a sense of false security because of their environment."
The Symposium is designed to connect experts in their respective fields with individuals who have a vested interest in affecting change. The all-day event will be held on Tuesday, November 14 from 8 AM to 6 PM at the Marriott Energy Corridor Hotel.
The symposium speakers are as follows:
Representative John Zerwas: 28th District, Texas House of Representatives
Senator Joan Huffman: 17th District, Texas Senate
Judge Susan Lowery: Fort Bend County Juvenile Court No. 3
Chief Johna Stallings: Harris County Sex-Trafficking Unit
Detective Joe Scaramucci: McLennan Sheriff's Office/Task Force
Olivia Rivers: Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Social Media Expert
Tina Paulsen: The Association for the Recovery of Children (CA)
Bazzel Baz: Founder of Recovery of Children (CA)
