Many Katy residents have altered their shopping patterns and dining preferences to accommodate for the coronavirus pandemic. With limited seating in restaurants and mask requirements in public, Katyites have opted for delivery services to provide their meals, prescriptions, groceries and more.
As Katy families observe the restrictions in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, they continue to adjust their daily routines. In public, they wear masks and social distance from others. Many have chosen to avoid visiting stores and restaurants altogether.
However, many Katy residents realize they need to replenish everyday items, or vary their weekly menu. Increasingly, they have taken advantage of curbside pick-up and to-go orders from local businesses.
Katyites have also supported the economy by staying home and placing orders for their meals, groceries, and more, to be delivered. Restaurants have updated their websites with limited menus, and easy-to-use apps to make it easier for customers to oder.
The list below features popular delivery services that keep families connected to their favorite Katy businesses.
1. DOOR DASH
Door Dash offers no-contact delivery so Katy families can select from local establishments to fulfill cravings while staying home.
2. UBER EATS
Using the Uber Eats app is quick and easy. Users simply click on the picture of their favorite Katy restaurant and they will deliver the order. Customers can also order from a computer using their easy-to-navigate website.
3. GRUBHUB
Grubhub picks up orders from many participating local establishments, providing Katy families with the flexibility of selecting from different cuisines and choosing when they want them delivered.
4. POSTMATES
Customers enter their Katy zip code on the Postmates app or website and order their favorite meal from a variety of Katy establishments. Postmates also offers pickup from CVS and Walgreens for health-related needs.
5. FAVOR
Favor takes dining options one step further by delivering groceries from companies such as H-E-B and Kroger too. Their "Runners" provide food delivery services and quick errands (what did you forget at the Target?) in under an hour. Favor also offers delivery fees as low as $1 from select stores and restaurants. Plus, Favor offers no-contact delivery on all purchases.
6. INSTACART
Instacart connects customers with Personal Shoppers in the Katy area to shop for and deliver groceries from their favorite stores. Groceries can be delivered in as little as an hour, or later in the day or week. Instacart offers no-contact delivery as well as a pickup option from the retailer.
7. SHIPT
Shipt delivers everything customers want or need from their local stores, with next-hour delivery options available. Participating grocery stores include H-E-B and Costco as well as supplies for furry friends from PetCo.
