“Voting early usually means skipping the lines on Election Day,” says Katy resident Wendy Duncan. “More importantly, let your voice be heard and vote!”

The Katy ISD School Board has two seats up for election this season, both are drawing a lot of attention and your vote counts.

Incumbents Dawn Champagne and Rebecca Fox are both running for re-election against newcomers David Olson and Donovan Campbell.

“Local elections affect our community in direct ways, and our excellent Katy ISD schools are a key reason why our community remains vibrant and successful,” says Duncan.

While most people are already paying attention to November’s Presidential Election, local politics such as the school board tend to impact local families the most.

"Early voting allows me to avoid potential long lines on Election Day, gives me flexibility in choosing when to vote, allows me to vote close to home at an easy to access location, and ensures my voice is heard for our Katy ISD kids," says Katy resident and Katy ISD mom Chancie Davis.

Election Day is May 2, 2024 and will bring in more crowds. Residents who know who they are voting for and wish to avoid crowds should definitely consider voting early.
