9 Katy ISD Schools Recognized in Prestigious Counseling Awards

Nine Katy ISD campuses have earned CREST awards, statewide honors recognizing counseling programs that excel at empowering and guiding students.
All Katy ISD campuses have dedicated counselors tasked with mentoring and guiding students. This year nine Katy ISD schools were recognized in their counseling greatness.
The Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) Award, sponsored by the Texas School Counselor Association (TSCA), recognizes outstanding school counseling programs and serves as a tool for continuous growth and advocacy.
This year’s CREST recipients include Bear Creek, Bryant, Creech, Faldyn, Jenks, Katy and Morton Ranch Elementary Schools, along with Morton Ranch and West Memorial Junior High Schools. The award highlights counseling programs that demonstrate impactful services, strong collaboration and a comprehensive approach to student guidance.
“Our counselors work tirelessly to ensure students feel seen, supported and empowered,” says Katy ISD Coordinator of Campus Student Support Marisa Adams. “This recognition celebrates their dedication to creating safe, nurturing environments where students can thrive. We are incredibly proud of their work and the positive impact they make each day.”
Katy ISD counseling teams serve more than 95,000 students districtwide, offering programs that support academic planning, emotional health, conflict resolution and college and career readiness.
The CREST award recognizes counseling programs that excel in the following key areas:
• Development and delivery of a comprehensive counseling curriculum
• Collaboration with staff, parents and community stakeholders
• Effective planning, response and guidance for student needs.
