Armored Vehicle Robbed from Katy’s H Mart

An armored vehicle was robbed from the H Mart in Katy over the weekend. Authorities state that the thieves may have been armed with AR-style rifles.

Saturday morning the driver of an armored Brinks vehicle had just left the store when he was approached by thieves. Authorities state that they believe the thieves were armed with AR-style rifles.

The robbery took place around 8:00 a.m. in front of H Mart at 23110 Colonial Parkway in Katy’s Asian Town. According to deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the thieves took an undisclosed amount of cash from the armored vehicle, and the driver was not harmed.

The two male suspects were described as wearing black hoodies and ski masks.

They fled the scene in a Hyundai sedan. The authorities believe they have recovered the getaway car by a hotel near Barker Cypress and they are investigated if it was stolen.

No arrests have been made at this time. Authorities ask for anyone with information to reach out to Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477.)
