Arrest Made in Fatal Katy Vehicle Crash

A man has been arrested and charged with Felony Intoxication Manslaughter following a fatal crash early this morning at Westheimer Parkway in Katy.

20-year-old Dejon Fortune was arrested and booked into the Fort Bend County Jail on one count of Felony Intoxication Manslaughter. An accident occurred this morning around 2:20 a.m. at the block of 24300 Westheimer Parkway.

The accident involved two vehicles. The initial investigation indicates a white BMW driven by Fortune hit a black Cadillac driven by Sung Bae, 53. Bae was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Mr. Bae as they navigate this heartbreaking loss," says Fort Bend County Sheriff Eric Fagan. "Impaired driving continues to claim innocent lives in our community. We urge everyone to make responsible choices and never get behind the wheel while under the influence."
