A Katy-area shooting yesterday morning that resulted in two deaths remains under investigation. Authorities seek the public’s help as the shooter and weapon remain at-large.

More details are now available as the investigation into yesterday’s deadly shooting continues. Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying the shooter in what is now being called a Double Homicide.

Yesterday morning, January 12, 2026, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez took to social media to report that his deputies responded to a call about a shooting. HCSO deputies arrived at 6:30 a.m. to the 3700 block of Bent Springs Lane in Katy’s Bridgewater Pointe. At their arrival both an adult man and female were found deceased by apparent gunshot wounds in different areas of the home.

While the victims of this Double Homicide haven’t been identified, they are reported to have been in their 50’s.

The couple had two adult children and a 7-year-old foster child in the home. They were reportedly asleep upstairs during the time of the shooting. The adult son called 911 saying they were shot in the chest and behind help.

Family members and nearby security footage is being considered. Authorities said that there were no signs of a break in.

Sheriff Gonzalez reports that there have been previous calls to the home and that the female victim has had issues in the past with an ex, but that person isn’t considered to be a suspect.

At this time, the weapon hasn’t been found, and a shooter is still at-large. The Double Homicide is still under investigation and authorities seek the public’s, or any witnesses’ help. Please contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 713-221-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
