Christ Clinic, a Katy based organization that treats adults who qualify, is expanding it's Kingsland clinic to meet the growing need for their services. Last year Christ Clinic served over 9,000 clinic visits, which included primary and preventative care visits.
Hurricane Harvey Showed the Need
Christ Clinic is located at 25722 Kingsland Boulevard, Suite 111. They are adding four treatment rooms bringing them to a total of 14 rooms. This expansion comes at a time when the clinic moves their administrative staff to a new office at 802 Dominion Drive, Katy, near their community partners Clothed By Faith and Hope Impacts.
"After Harvey, Christ Clinic went from serving 600 patients per month to nearly 1,200," says Beverly Allen, Director of Advancements for Christ Clinic. "Harvey really showed us that we had a greater need in our community." Adding more space will help them meet that need. Volunteers from Kingsland Baptist Church helped transform their four offices into four new exam rooms to help with the increased need."
Christ Clinic was one of many Katy organizations that rallied to help people after Hurricane Harvey. They offered free healthcare while Katy worked to recover.
"We want people to know that we are not a stop and go clinic. We treat many who are chronically ill from mental health issues to diabetic needs. We are able to really bridge this gap and help meet a need for our community. We are able to help these patients get well and get back to work," says Allen.
This Expansion is Instead of a Second Facility
At one time it was discussed that the clinic would open a second clinic over on Dominion Drive but that was canceled. Director Lara Hamilton stated the plans to install a second clinic on Dominion Drive were canceled because it was more fiscally responsible to expand the current clinic.

Christ Clinic Needs Volunteers and Funding
"While our patients have doubled our funding has not," says Allen. "We need funding. Anything, even a monthly contribution can be helpful and help us continue to serve our community."
Christ Clinic is also actively seeking medical volunteers. "We need doctors, nurses, and nurse practitioners to help meet this growing demand," says Allen

Christ Clinic was founded in 2000 and started operating one night a week out of the gym of Memorial Lutheran Church in Katy. As the demand grew so did the need for more space. In 2006 they moved out of the church to First Street in Katy. By 2011 they began to separate from the church and were an independent 501(c)(3) by 2012.
Christ Clinic opened it's newest doors on Kingsland in 2016.
