A woman stole four Consuela handbags from the Cinco Ranch Hallmark store. The store has footage and a good picture of the thief and is asking for the public’s help.

The local Cinco Ranch Hallmark store (22116 Westheimer Parkway) is a place to go for ornaments, gifts, and even some designer handbags. On Thursday, April 17, 2025, at at around 3:00 p.m. a woman was caught on security camera stealing multiple Consuela bags.

“We are a family-owned business with great gifts for birthdays and weddings,” says Cinco Ranch Hallmark store manager Renee Bosco. “We have a great staff that is always there to help.”

This sadly isn’t the first time this has happened to this store. Katy Magazine covered a similar theft back in 2023 and then they experienced another one this last fall.

Bosco says that they have had cases where people tried to leave with merchandise and when confronted they put it down and left.

“If they can get away with it, they leave with hundreds of dollars,” explains Bosco. “If they are asked to put it down there are no consequences.”

The thief in the footage clearly knew that the bags had wires and came prepared to cut them. She can be seen doing so in the video before leaving the store with the bags without paying.

She stole over $500 worth of handbags.

“Why did you feel that you were entitled to have things that aren’t yours?” asks Bosco.

Bosco helps that the Katy community can help identify the woman in the picture and help return the bags. She posted on social media and had a commentor say that they knew the woman, but they haven’t followed up with any more information.

The crime is currently under investigation by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact the department at 281-341-4665.

“We hope the community will shop local and support small businesses like Hallmark,” says Bosco.
