A former Katy ISD employee is accused of online solicitation of a minor and sexually assaulting a student while at West Memorial Junior High.

Former Katy ISD paraprofessional, Samual Perez was arrested last week. According to records, the 25-year-old has posted a $75,000 bond.

A 13-year-old student has accused Perez of reaching out to her on TikTok and Instagram when he was her teacher. An investigation began last November and Perez is no longer employed at Katy ISD.
During the investigation, the IP address was tied to a Katy home that matched the address on Perez’s driver’s license. The search warrant, signed on May 8, 2026, uncovered evidence that led to Perez’ arrest and charges this week.
The investigation found that Perez and the victim exchanged over 200 messages last June. Messages ranged from normal correspondence to some being sexual in nature.
The court document also says that Perez discussed sexual acts, requested nude pictures, and suggested that the student “run away” with him.

In the document, the victim also reports they had sex around five time inside the junior high classroom.
Katy ISD has issued the following statement to media:
"In coordination with local law enforcement agencies, District police investigated allegations involving inappropriate solicitation between a staff member and a student. The District takes all allegations of this nature extremely seriously and is fully cooperating with law enforcement and relevant agencies. Following the investigation, former staff member Samuel Perez was arrested and charged with a felony. Mr. Perez has not been present on District property for most of the current school year and is no longer employed by Katy ISD. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and we are committed to responding promptly and appropriately whenever concerns arise."
