Katy students have great incentives to keep reading all summer long as local libraries offer fun programming great for all ages.

No matter the age or reading level of your child, local libraries have programs to accommodate all. Katy residents are able to attend libraries in both Harris, Waller or Fort Bend Counties, membership benefits vary by county.
Summer reading programs help encourage children to keep reading outside of the classroom and prevent regressing over these summer months.
“To keep kids engaged, we offer a variety of programs that range from arts and robotics to science and team-building activities, and even opportunities to see exotic animals up close,” says Dana Brittain, Fort Bend County Library’s Youth Services Coordinator. “‘Learning’ comes in many different forms, and with these programs, kids begin to see libraries as places for discovery – whatever the topic may be!”
Each county offers Summer Reading Programs that gives kids various incentives. Children can participate in any program, and you don’t have to live in the county. Active readers can do it all!
All local libraries are closed on Sundays.
