Katy area neighborhoods have taken their Christmas decorating to new levels this year. Pin Oak, Pecan Grove and other subdivisions make looking at lights a holiday tradition worthy of scheduling hayrides and lasting family memories.

Apparently, the Griswolds are alive and well and living in many Katy niehgborhoods. Those who drive through the Pin Oak Village will find colorful lights coordinated to music, lighted arches, trees, giant stars, life-sized nutcrackers, and more to behold.

Many homeowners say it takes close to a month to prepare their dazzling displays. Be sure to watch out for signs indicating what radio station to tune to get the full experience. Each LED light must be programmed to turn on and off, and what color to display.

The famous Christmas Katy is back after 18 years of lights. The display runs nightly at 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm Sunday to Thursday, and goes to 10 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, Christmas, and Christmas Eve. More info can be found on their website.

This year the Pin Oak neighborhood has added over 5,000 more lights and have 32 radio stations.

Another Great Katy Neighborhood

Another great Katy neighborhood to visit is Pecan Grove. The community goes all out with their amazing light displays and trucks pull trailers for spectators to enjoy viewing the lights from a hayride. Most hayrides are pre-booked long in advance but they meet up at the Pecan Grove Elementary across the community.
