Katy families (and couples) are turning to outdoor activities to enjoy time together as they continue to observe social distancing guidelines. While camping is as outdoorsy as it gets, it may not be for everyone. See how many families are combining nature and comfort by going “glamping.”

While it may sound trendy, “glamping” has been around long enough that it’s clear this glamorous take on a nature-filled getaway is here to stay. This camping compromise connects families to nature, but with a sense of comfort and style.

We can’t all be Eagle Scouts or adventurers like Bear Grylls. Glamping gives everyone the chance to enjoy the great outdoors on their comfort level. There are so many glamping options to explore just a road trip away from Katy.

Camp Jellystone offers many options from campsite, RV hookups, and family cabin rentals. The park is located just 35 miles northwest of Houston so families or couples can visit the San Jacinto Monument and/or Pleasant Hill Winery. Golf carts are available to rent to explore the grounds and take in all the activities.

Glamping Perks: In addition to the usual water activities including a vast lazy pool, Jellystone is known for its outdoor theater, water zone playground, and so much more.

 

Son’s Island, nestled in the middle of the cool waters of Lake Placid, offers guests a beautiful, Hawaiian-styled-island retreat. Bring the family for a fun time of outdoor leisure in the Texas Hill Country. Relax under a shady cabana, swim, rent a paddle board or kayak before slumbering among nature in one of the island’s spacious tents. The family-friendly atmosphere is perfect for a quick getaway or a long weekend outing.
