Katy Guide to Virtual and In-Person Summer Camps

Many local businesses are announcing their summer camp schedules. From virtual, to in-person camps with precautions, Katy kids can look forward to a summer of fun and growth while staying safe.

Kids at My Place Learning Academy learn and have fun while taking precautions to be safe.

Carson's Art School features 5-day-a-week summer art camps.

Half day: $180 10am - 12pm

Full day: $350 10am - 3pm

Many students return to these art camps to enrich their artwork and make new friends.

Science, Engineering, Robotics and Creative Arts Camps

Ages: 5 – 12

Camps begin June 1 and run through August

Morning Session: 8:30 am - 12pm

Afternoon Session: 12:30 - 4pm

Choose from 10 awesome camp themes held in furnished and equipped labs designed to inspire kids.

Camp themes include: The Wizard’s School, Crazy Chemistry, Junior Doctor’s Camp, Mission to Mars, Junior Tycoons, LEGO Robotics Coding Challenge, Fashion Designers DIY Camp, The Artist’s Workshop, and more.

Challenge Island themed summer camps are based on popular kids themes that involve action to STEAM camps. This summer they will offer both virtual and in-person camps based on the theme.

Full-day camps begin in May.

Code Ninjas West Katy Camps offer an immersive environment for children to explore technology, develop new skills, and have a great time with friends.

Summer Camps are week-long with half-day AM, half-day PM and full-day options. Introducing 10 camps for 2020: Game Building, Robotics Engineering, Website Building, App Creation, Python, Minecraft Create and Roblox Create!

Katy GT Academy's summer camps provide entertaining and educational programs to challenge your child’s mind. This summer they will offer a variety of online camps that will explore both academics and fun. See their online brochure here. The online schedule takes into account and allows for breaks from electronics.

Due to COVID-19 all summer programing will be hosted online. This will give students the opportunity to get initiated to French or to reinforce their learning while school is out.

Campers play games, create arts and crafts, explore science, swim, and learn to appreciate the outdoors in safe, happy Christian environment.

This summer four sessions are offered from June 15 - July 17.

Monday through Friday: 9 am to 3:30 pm

Ages: Children entering kindergarten through entering 8th grade. Kindergarten campers will be separated from first to eighth grade campers.

Price: $275 per week

Early drop-off and late stay coverage provided for $35 each week or $65 for both weeks.

Camp West facilities include a great sports complex with a double gymnasium, a rock wall, two ball fields, sand volleyball courts and swimming lakes.

My Place Early Learning Center believes that being able to get outside, explore, and spend time with friends at summer camp can be an incredibly enriching experience for a child. It’s a secure environment for kids to learn about their world and explore new ideas.

My Place is now enrolling students age 5-12 in their all-day summer camp program.

Goddard School's summer camp curriculum incorporates STEAM learning (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) into exciting, one-of-a-kind and fun experiences for your child every day! Kids R Kids offers an 11-week Kaleidoscope 360° summer camp series, where kids explore their hidden talents, passions, and interests. Campers experience art and cooking, engineering, community service, and everything in between!

The full-day program can accommodate working parents and runs all summer long.

The Summer Adventure Club at Primrose are fun-filled, age-appropriate themed camps include new adventurers with fun experiences and exciting activities like building robots, creating digital art, taking on engineering challenges and playing sports.

Dates are ongoing all summer long and can accommodate working parents' schedules.




Voted “Best in Katy” for six consecutive years, the Conservatory of Music at Cinco Ranch is offering online lessons in 10 areas including piano, woodwind instruments, drums, guitar, voice and more.

When they are able, they will return to in-person lessons and a recital schedule.

CYT will be offering theater camps in July and August across the greater Houston area.

“If we are still under social restrictions this summer, and we are unable to host camps, you will have the option of a refund,” states their website.

School of Rock is currently offering virtual classes and registration is open for the summer. Keep watching their website for any changes.

School of Rock Katy offers workshops that cover topics for musicians of any skill level who want to play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and vocals.

Summer camps are enrolling now for both full- and half-day options starting the end of June. Fun themes include: Fun with Fables, Hollywood WHODUNIT! And Playhouse-Fairy Tale.

Held at Tompkins High School

Bobby Sanders Summer Basketball Camps are for boys and girls who love basketball and really want to improve their skills!

Ages: First through Eighth grades

Sessions start in June but will be moved back if they need to be.

Price: $155

Campers are welcome to sign up for both the morning and afternoon sessions. However, campers must be picked up at 11:30 am and then are allowed to return for open shooting at 12:40 pm, prior to the afternoon session.

Summer camps encourage kids to be active through various games and activities, and learn and participate in multiple fitness routines and sports.

Katy Sports and Fitness aims to be role models for the campers and help each child learn new ways to enjoy being physically active and develop healthy lifestyle habits.

Week-long day camps offer five mornings of fun in an exciting camp environment! Campers learn new ninja skills, play camp games and have lots of FUN!

Weekly camps run June 15 - August 14, Monday through Friday

8:30am – 12pm

Ages: 5 - 13

Camps include instruction in all ninja skills and obstacles like the Warped Wall, Devil Steps, Rock Wall, Ropes, Rings, Hanging Ladder and many more. Campers will end the week by testing their skills in the Ninja Challenge Cup. Every camper will receive a special Ninja camper t-shirt.


This year Katy Youth Football has put together a comprehensive conditioning and tackle football camp to take place over two weeks, with over 16 hours of professional instruction.

Camps are held July 8 - 11 and July 15 - 18

Ages: First through sixth grade

Paloma Trails offers two-hour camps, half-day camps and full-day camps.

The Black Dragon summer camps include martial arts, guest speakers, field trips, arts and crafts and more. The staff leads lessons to nurture your child’s development and self-worth, with tons of planned activities and lots of Tae Kwon Do.

Camps run weekly through August 10.

Ages: Kindergarten - fifth grade

Each week campers will enjoy games and activities, while developing life-enriching skills of self confidence, respect, self control and friendship. Campers will participate in outdoor sports like soccer, basketball, kickball and much more. Plus they can explore their creative side by trying hip hop dancing, painting, drawing, 3D modeling, exciting science experiments and much more!

Camps run weekly throughout the summer.
