Katy ISD started their 2026-2027 academic year last week and they are already being recognized among the best of the Texas school districts as they continue to outperform.

Katy ISD continues to raise the bar for academic excellence across Texas. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the District earned a B/88 rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), placing Katy ISD as the top-performing large school district in the state.
“We are incredibly proud of our students and educators,” says Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski. “Our students continue to achieve at a high level, outperforming their peers across Texas. While there is always more work to do, these results reflect the excellence in action happening in classrooms every day and the strong foundation our students are building for continued success.”
Trustees reviewed the results during the Aug. 17 Board Work Study meeting, celebrating another strong showing in the District’s longstanding record of academic achievement.
The rating demonstrates strong performance on state assessments across Katy ISD. This spring, students outperformed their peers across Texas at the “Meets” level by:
17 points above the state average in Math.
16 points above the state average in Reading/English.
17 points above the state average in Science.
19 points above the state average in Social Studies.
Katy ISD schools continue to use student performance data to identify opportunities for growth and provide targeted support. In the latest accountability ratings, 62 Katy ISD campuses earned A or B ratings.
