Breakfast and/or Lunch Offered at No Cost
Summer meals will consist of a hot meal for breakfast and/or lunch which will be served in the designated schools cafeterias only. There are no take home meals this year. Parents are welcome to purchase a meal and eat with their student.
"Katy ISD continues to support families throughout the summer by providing free meals to students throughout the district," says Donna Pittenger, Executive Director of Nutrition and Food Services. "Any child aged 18 and under can receive a free meal, regardless of whether they are a Katy ISD student."Â
Currently enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years can also receive the meals.
ID is Not Required
Children must be present to receive a meal and identification is not required. There is no need to apply, make reservations, or qualify for these meals.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, eating a well-balanced diet promotes proper growth and appropriate development in children. It also is known to prevent various health conditions.
