Katy ISD’s Partners in Education invites the community to bring hope to students and families in need this holiday season through the Food for Families program. Each year the initiative helps Katy students identified by campus counselors, but the program goes beyond financial support.

Food for Families, a Katy ISD Partners in Education yearly initiative, unites the Katy ISD staff and community to help Katy students in need. When school is not in session, such as over the summer and winter break, Food for Families helps to keep families in need fed. With Thanksgiving holiday quickly approaching, there is a need to help students in our Katy schools.
"The Katy community is known for its giving spirit and help for students and families," says Katy ISD Board of Trustee Rebecca Fox. "During this season of Thanksgiving, we are truly grateful for how they provide food for our children."
Each year, Katy ISD campuses identify families who would benefit most from the program while Partners in Education collects community and corporate donations. Contributions fund $75 grocery gift cards, which are personally delivered to families by campus staff, along with a message of care and encouragement from the Katy ISD community.
“It’s more than a gift card—it’s community,” says Elementary Counseling Specialist, Kelli Price. “It's our collective effort and it takes each one of us in order to build that sustainable community and to support the growth of our students and our families.”
Donations are accepted online through the Pay N’ Go app or the Partners in Education website. Checks can also be mailed to Partners in Education, Katy ISD ESC, 6301 South Stadium Lane, Katy, TX 77494 and made payable to “Katy ISD Food for Families.”
$75 can feed one Katy ISD family for holiday season, but any donation amount is appreciated.
The Partners in Education team collects donations from the community and corporations and converts them into grocery store gift cards. Then a campus staff member delivers the gift to the student along with a note of support from the Katy ISD community.
Every Katy ISD campus participates in the program, so it effectively supports student need across the district.
