Katy ISD String Ensembles Sweep Top Two State Titles Second Year in a Row

Katy ISD earned both the gold and silver medals in the strings division at the UIL State Instrumental Chamber Music Competition Finals. This is the second consecutive year that the District earned this prestigious honor.


 

Katy ISD once again set the standard for musical excellence, earning both the gold and silver medals in the strings division at the UIL State Instrumental Chamber Music Competition Finals.


 

“Our students continue to perform at the highest level, and this accomplishment reflects their dedication, discipline and passion for their craft,” says Executive Director of Fine Arts Damon Archer. “Earning both first and second place in the state is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the strength of our fine arts programs across the District.”

 

Katy ISD students competed at the Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts in Bastrop. Student musicians from across Texas showcased elite talent and precision.

 

Katy ISD’s Jordan High School ENJZ String Quartet captured first place, while the Seven Lakes High School Ebullient String Quartet earned second place, securing a sweep of the top two honors in the state.

 


The UIL State Chamber Music Competition is one of the most prestigious events for student musicians in Texas, highlighting small ensembles that demonstrate exceptional artistry, collaboration and technical mastery.

 

Katy ISD congratulates these outstanding musicians and their directors for representing the District with excellence on the state stage.
