It was a festive celebration at the beautifully decorated Katy Heritage Park as 78 educators were honored for their dedication and outstanding accomplishments. Each year Katy ISD honors their Teachers of the Year (TOYs) by permanently celebrating their accomplishments with a commemorative brick in the Katy Heritage Park.

“Tonight is about celebrating the educators who represent the very best of Katy ISD,” says Superintendent Dr. Ken Gregorski. “It is my privilege to thank each of you for the extraordinary impact you have on our students, schools and community.”

The annual celebration is made possible through a partnership with Venus Construction, Modern Pest Control and the Katy Heritage Society. Together, these organizations help honor the legacy of exceptional educators whose work has defined Katy ISD for generations.

"The commemorative bricks for Teacher of the Year began as a lasting legacy of an award given to a teacher by their campus coworkers," says Katy ISD Board of Trustee Rebecca Fox. "Gift certificates, flowers and the like fade but these bricks will live forever as a small tribute to the teacher's commitment to making a lasting impact on the lives of children and ultimately their families."

This celebration not only recognizes Katy ISD Campus Teachers of the Year but also pays tribute to the broader Katy community. The commemorative bricks at Katy Heritage Park serve as a timeless testament to the decades of outstanding educational experiences provided across Katy ISD campuses.

The Tompkins High School Jazz Choir opened the event with holiday carols, adding to the festive atmosphere as families gathered to view the newly installed bricks.
