Katy Parents Enjoy Free Fitness Options with Kids Back in School

Katy has many fun and free ways to stay fit! From running clubs to yoga and tai chi in a park you have options to get out and work out. Fitness is also great for managing stress.


Yoga at Central Green Park


Whether you are a Katy mom looking to manage stress or a Katy resident wanting to get out and focus on health and fitness, Katy has several free fitness options. Mix some fun in your health and get out and make some friends too! This is great for parents now that school is back in session.


According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, staying fit can improve your brain health, manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your overall mental health. You don't have to spend a fortune to stay fit in Katy


Central Green Park

Central Green Park located in LaCenterra offers many great events including some free fitness classes. Enjoy a work out, make some friends, and then shop and dine afterwards. This fall there are some big changes coming to the yoga class schedule.


Yoga in the Park

Wednesdays and Fridays

8:00 a.m.

On September 9, 2023, Yoga in the Park will move to 9:00 a.m. Then in October, both a 8:00 a.m. and a 9:00 a.m. class will be offered to accommodate the growing demand that comes with cooler weather.


Yoga at Central Green Park


All levels are welcome in this recurring free yoga class that continues to gain popularity.


 

Tai Chi

Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.


Tai Chi at Central Green Park


Burn calories while finding your zen in Tai Chi! According to Harvard Health, Tai Chi is like "meditation in motion." There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice has value in treating or preventing many health problems. It has even been linked to helping with balance and therefore preventing falls.

Local running clubs offer a great way to stay fit and be social at some of Katy’s hottest hangouts!

Mondays at 5:30 p.m.




No Label Running Club meets every week at No Label Brewery. Check in time is at 5:30 p.m. Each week they have a picture and social time after the run.
