The Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show and Katy Rodeo has been providing student opportunities while entertaining the Katy community for 82 years. The fun starts next week with the livestock show, rodeo, carnival and more. Here's what you need to know.

It’s rodeo time Katy! While Katy residents love going to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo that starts next month, next week is all about the Katy Rodeo. For 82 years, Katy ISD FFA and the Katy Rodeo Committee have partnered to bring together a livestock show and rodeo that provides opportunities for students while entertaining the Katy community.
Rodeo Details
This Katy tradition kicks off next week, Tuesday February 11, 2025- Saturday February 15, 2025 at the Young Agricultural Sciences Center and W.E. Billy Morgan Rodeo Arena (5801 Katy Hockley Cut Off Road.) Students will compete in categories including steers, goats, lambs, hogs, broilers and rabbits. Some Katy ISD students will also participate in the junior rodeo with traditional rodeo events.
"Katy ISD FFA students are some of the hardest working children in the district," says KISD School Board Member Rebecca Fox. "Raising animals for exhibition and sale means boys and girls are traveling to the district-provided barns in the northwest area of Katy twice a day to care for their animals. Feeding, training, cleaning and working with them daily begins as early as 5:30 a.m. and repeats in the evening every day for months."
The district’s livestock show is the step before FFA students take center stage showing their animals at the acclaimed Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
The annual parade is Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
The full calendar of events can be found on the Livestock Show and Rodeo webpage.
Highlights include the Best Buddies Grand Drive and Special Rodeo, the Floral and Horticulture shows, Rodeo Parade and Parade of Champions.

Stick Horses for Sale
While fan favorite mutton bustin’ is fully booked, Katy students can participate in the popular StickHorse races held each night. Katy ISD FFA members made stickhorses for the races! They are for sale at the rodeo for $10 and proceeds go to fund scholarships.
Katy families can follow the Livestock Show and Rodeo on YouTube to view the livestreamed livestock show events.
Nightly, rodeo events begin at 7:00 p.m., and gates open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online. Adults are $15 and children (Ages 4-11) are $7. On Thursday night all children are free.
