JANUARY


January 25-26, 2020

Merrell Center


Ring in the new year and get inspired to make a change in your home and/or garden. The annual Katy Home and Garden show brings in vendors and exhibits for all tastes. Enjoy celebrity guests, mini-workshops by the Rustic Brush, a Putting Challenge fundraiser for The Ballard House, and so much more. The event showcases examples of the latest in interior and exterior design trends. Save the date and get inspired.

 


FEBRUARY


February 13, 14, and 15, 2020

For more than 75 years, the Katy ISD Livestock Show and Rodeo has provided students with the opportunity to showcase their FFA accomplishments and earn scholarships. This show offers the local students an incredible opportunity to gain valuable FFA experience.


The three-day event kicks off with a festive parade, and includes a carnival for the community to enjoy.

 

MARCH


Crawfish Boils

Various Locations


During crawfish season, Katy celebrates a favorite delicacy of our neighboring state of Louisiana. Many Katy restaurants offer specials and feature big platters of crawdads, potatoes and corn. Place your order, by the pound, at family-owned Big N’s and other popular restaurants such as BB’s Café, TaD’s of Katy, and Tex Orleans. Don’t forget to check out local vendors in front of the HEB. You can even sample the crawfish before buying.

 

March 28, 2020

Typhoon Texas


Katy restaurants feature local and international delicacies. To taste a wonderful variety, grab a fork and head to the Katy Food Fest. The event, co-hosted by The Armor of Hope Foundation, is held at Katy's waterpark, Typhoon Texas. Guests can enjoy food and drinks from 20+ local Katy restaurants; plus, there's a kid zone.

APRIL



April 16-18, 2020

Katy Mills Mall



In April, residents can find over 500 different brews under a giant tent in the Katy Mills Parking lot. Proceeds go towards various Katy charities. On Thursday nights, enjoy no cover charge, $5 beer, and live music. Get your tickets early. This is a great time to sample a lot of different brews - many of which are made locally.

 

Easter Egg Hunts

Before Easter


Put on your Sunday best, and dust off the kid’s Easter baskets, because the Easter Bunny is coming to Katy! Most Katy churches hold their annual Easter events and spring festivals for family entertainment. One of the most anticipated community egg hunts is the YMCA Community Egg Hunt -always full in “eggceptional” fun for the entire family.




 

JUNE


Splashin' and Campin'

When school's out, Katy kids and families find lots of fun without leaving Katy. Katy's waterpark, Typhoon Texas, welcomes guests to swim, splash and enjoy their slides, wave pool, lazy river, and more.


For indoor fun, businesses and local groups in Katy offer an exciting variety of summer camp options to keep the little ones and school-aged kids occupied. From vacation bible schools, STEM, dance, theatre, martial arts, and coding, there's a camp for any age and interest.

 

JULY


Fourth of July


Celebrate our Nation’s birthday with parties and colorful fireworks.


LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch

There's no need to go into Houston to the Galleria when Katy residents have LaCenterra. Not only can you find the best shopping in the city and great dining, but LaCenterra plays host to several community parties. Their Fourth of July Bash features live music, kid zones, food, and a spectacular fireworks show.



City of Katy Celebrates

Community events and fireworks are also hosted by the city at the Katy Fire Station, with games and bounce houses. The party moves to Katy Mills Mall in the evening as fireworks light up the sky.


 


OCTOBER


Friday Night Lights


The boys of fall take to the fields of Katy’s Rhodes and Legacy stadiums. The Friday Night Lights football spirit dominates most of the town, and reaches a festive peak with Homecoming games - when district rivals face off, and giant Texas mums fill the stands. Katy is home to big football excitement. Katy ISD has 9 high school football teams.


Support your favorite Katy team and enjoy a night of football for just $10 a ticket ($8 if you buy at the school; kid's tickets are even less.)

 

October 2020


The Katy Rice Festival, hosted by the City of Katy in partnership with the Rotary Club of Katy, is a family-friendly event featuring quality arts and crafts vendors, carnival rides and kids' zone, live musical performances, food vendors and a beer garden.


The three-day event also features a rice cooking competition and student arts competition.100% of the proceeds from the Katy Rice Festival goes back to the community in student scholarships, donations and to local charities through the Rotary Club of Katy.

 

October

Katy Dog Park


Every October, the City of Katy partners with Relay For Life to host Howl-O-Ween at the Katy Dog Park. The event always features local vendors, games, a costume contest and more. Entry into the event is a donation of dog food or a donation to the American Cancer Society. Katy residents dress their pups up in cute or spooky costumes for the contest.

 

NOVEMBER


Thanksgiving Morning


The YMCA Katy Turkey Trot has become the premiere fun run for Katy. This special community holiday kick-off celebration attracts participants from all parts of world. Race day highlights include awards in different age categories for the Kids Race and 5K. Live music plays during the post-race party which features door prizes, complimentary snacks and games as well as a Kids Fun Zone complete with a rock wall, moonwalks, Turkey Mascot, Santa and more.



 

Villagio Town Center


Villagio Town Center, at the northeast corner of Westheimer Parkway and Peek Road, is home to the bi-annual Katy Sip n Stroll. The events takes place in November and April and 2,000+ Katy neighbors sample great wine, taste food, specially prepared by area restaurants, and shop local craft vendors. All proceeds go to benefit The Ballard House. The event has a great silent auction and guests can participate in the "cork pull," and bid on a Bachelor in the all-new Bachelor Auction. Tickets do sell out and are not available at the event so don’t wait to commit to this fun Katy event.

 

DECEMBER


Tree Lightings

Various Dates and Locations

Katy hosts many family festivals during December. Throughout the town, tree lighting ceremonies welcome large crowds to kick off the holiday season, and you'll even get to see snow in Texas!


Watch for special events hosted by the City of Katy, and LaCenterra in Cinco Ranch, that feature a visit from Santa Claus. The Cane Island subdivision hosts The Festival of Trees fundraiser to benefit The Ballard House, while Katy’s own MKT Distillery gets into the spirit of the season as they light up the tree at the top of the town's iconic rice silos for all to see when driving in Old Katy.



 

Early December

No Label Brewery


In early December, No Label Brewery in Old Town Katy holds one of the city’s biggest Christmas events, the Katy Old-Fashioned Christmas Festival. This free family event features a beer garden, snow park, vendors, food trucks, and of course Santa. The event is organized by Katy Market Days and No Label. Proceeds go to a local food pantry. Canned goods donations are requested.
