You don't have to spend a fortune to have fun in Katy! Here are some of our favorite free activities for kids and families.

Farmers Market at LaCenterra Make plans now to come out on the fourth Sunday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be local vendors and artisans selling honey, cheese, fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables & much more.

Cinema Under the Stars Grab some food to go from one of our great restaurants or feel free to bring your own. The movie begins at dusk. Don't forget your blanket or lawn chair. Check their calendar for dates.

Monday's with Mommy

Mondays with Mommy, Presented by Texas Children's Hospital - West Campus is a fun educational program for parents and their young ones to get your child's brain and limbs moving. Begins at 10 a.m., check their calendar for event dates.

Family Movie Night

Begins at Sunset On select Saturdays each month, the Willow Fork Drainage District presents a family-friendly movie in Central Green Park.

Tai Chi in the Park

Tuesdays @ 9 a.m.

Willowfork Drainage District and Tai Chi instructor Trina Maxwell invite all skill levels out to practice the ancient Chinese Martial Art that centers the person body, mind, and spirit.Trina's class promotes overall health and well-being.

Live Music

Saturdays, 7:45 p.m.

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a free live music performance from talented local bands, presented by Willowfork Drainage District.

Story Time

Selected Mondays @ 10 a.m.

Parents with infants through 8 years old can enjoy a fun children's story on the green, presented by Willowfork Drainage District.



Family Night These locations host family and kids events twice a week each month with fun themes like pirates, indoor camping, and painting. Check the calendar online for schedule details. Kids Club Chick-fil-A Katy Mills 25601 Nelson Way This location offers family nights and toddler time activities throughout the month, each with a different theme. Check their calendar online for the schedule. Pajama Story Night Cinco Ranch Branch Library 2620 Commercial Center Blvd. This event is on Tuesdays beginning at 7 p.m. Come dressed in your comfiest pajamas for bedtime stories and fun activities.


THE ART SCENE Katy Landmarks Katy Heritage Society 5990 George Bush Dr. Take a walk down memory lane through the preservation of antique Katy landmarks. The historic homes in Katy Heritage Park are free to visit the first weekend of every month. Remembering Our Military Katy Veterans Memorial Museum 6202 George Bush Dr. This is a first-class military exhibit encompassing every foreign conflict involving the U.S. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free.

Frisbee Golf Willow Fork Park Grand Pkwy. & Cinco Ranch Blvd. (Behind Cinco Ranch High School)

The frisbee golf course at this 32-acre park is perfect for a group outing!

Run for Wellness 5K

George Bush Park 16756 Westheimer Pkwy. Runners of all experience levels are invited to participate in the free runs hosted once a month.


READING AND STORY TIME FUN Story Time and Book Clubs Katy Budget Books 2450 Fry Rd. Aside from selling novels and story books, the bookstore holds fun events for all ages. Preschool Explorers Maud Smith Marks Branch Library 1815 Westgreen Blvd. Every Wednesday at 11:15 a.m., children 2½ through 5 years old test their science and sensory exploration.
