The incident occurred in West Memorial when a homeowner had his friend, the victim, over to work on his vehicle. At some point the victim entered the garage to get a tool and found a homeless man (the suspect) and another individual, who were both there under permission of the homeowner.

While the complainant did take some video of the altercation on the street, there is no video or account of what was said in the garage.

“We don’t know what was said but he was clearly startled and then came out in an aggressive manner with the street,” says Robert Henslee with Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 5.

The victim reported that the suspect, the homeless man, chased him out onto the street with a knife. The victim wasn’t harmed as he was able to safely retreat into a nearby garage.

“Fortunately, nobody was hurt but this meets the definition of aggravated assault,” says Henslee.

Deputies were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody without incident.

The suspect was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and taken to jail.
